"Large domestic projects are basically completed by installation companies, including major fields such as industrial equipment, petroleum, chemical industry, railways, transportation, and civil aviation. And in these fields, the demand for wires and cables is very large." Chen Xiao, president of the Intelligent and Fire Engineering Branch of the China Installation Association, said in an interview with reporters at the 2014 Shanghai International Building Electrical and Intelligent Building Exhibition held on March 25.
He told reporters that currently, wire and cable manufacturers rarely sell their products directly to owners, and installation companies are basically responsible for procurement and installation. Based on this, he believes that wire and cable manufacturers need to establish close ties with installation companies.
He said that it is possible that some owners may have their own designated brands or manufacturers in the bidding process. However, whether cable products can be used in the project basically depends on the installation company. "Even if the owner has determined the cable brand, the price, service, etc. of the product must meet the requirements of the installation company." He pointed out that from this relationship, the sales of cable manufacturing companies are closely related to installation companies.
